His expertise spans complex public, private, and nonprofit sectors, where he has consistently driven growth, operational success, and systemic improvement. David's recent role as Chief Operating Officer at AM LLC saw him managing a fully remote workforce of 1,300 employees. In this capacity, he implemented scalable systems, led all strategic planning processes, and optimized financial performance. David directed human resource functions and enhanced communication and collaboration through technology, driving improved operational efficiency and annual government contracting revenue growth to $62 million. His leadership also extended to guiding the company through a challenging contraction period while serving as Acting CEO, showcasing his adeptness in managing both expansion and difficult transitions with a steady hand. As Superintendent of Schools at Mill River Unified Union School District, David was recognized as Vermont Superintendent of the Year in 2021, highlighting his impact on the district and the broader educational community. His tenure was marked by significant strategic initiatives, including comprehensive governance restructuring, resource optimization, and technology integration. His leadership in crisis management and policy development ensured regulatory compliance and bolstered operational effectiveness. David’s role also encompassed fostering strong relationships with board members, staff, parents, and the community, aligning all efforts with the district strategic vision and ensuring district-wide improvement. He also served as President of the Vermont Superintendents Association from 2020-2022, supporting the state of Vermont and its students and schools through the complexities and difficult decisions of the COVID era. David’s early career as a teacher and school administrator in Illinois set the foundation for his impactful leadership. Serving as both a principal and assistant principal at the elementary and secondary levels, he influenced the local educational landscape, led a National Blue Ribbon School and served as a trusted advisor within the community.
